Sellick Partnership are currently working on an exciting recruitment project with a hugely ambitious organisation. Our client is recruiting a dynamic interim Financial Controller to join with an immediate start.

During a massively exciting period of internal change for the £45m t/o business, this role will oversee the entire finance function, and report into a CFO as part of an integration into a new group structure. With the opportunity to build a team, this position could result in a permanent role for the right individual, with the chance to truly make this role their own. This is an all-encompassing role that is responsible for end to end production of the accounts for the site.

The purpose of this interim Financial Controller position is to assume immediate responsibility for all accounting duties within the finance function on site, to understand and improve existing processes and advise senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee financial and cashflow forecasting processes
• Responsible for month end procedures including management account packs, journal postings, and variance analysis
• Analysing performance against forecast for two key business areas
• Completing payment runs with necessary group approval, producing quarterly VAT returns and annual tax computations
• Understand and improve existing process, overseen recruitment of new finance staff and training of new personnel
• Provide commercial insight to senior stakeholders across the business to aid key commercial decision making

The successful individual will be a dynamic and self-motivated individual. The ideal candidate must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent, ideally with previous experience within a similar role with sole end to end responsibility for an accounting function. A background within manufacturing is desired but not essential, however the ability to analyse information and communicate this to non-financial stakeholders is vital. The successful individual will benefit from having a background within a change environment and a strong foundation in finance and accounting processes.
