Corporate Counsel - Employment Litigation

SUMMARY: Tyson Foods is seeking an experienced employment law litigator to serve as Corporate Counsel. This position must demonstrate an ability to effectively, efficiently, and timely manage outside counsel, communicate with and respond to clients including senior managers, along with an ability to provide competent risk assessments and process improvements. The successful candidate is a creative thinker who relies on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals and possesses an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of legal concepts practices and procedures. This Corporate Counsel position will be a part of the Team Services group of the Legal department with the primary focus being employment related matters, including labor and employment litigation.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Law degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Experience: 5 plus years of legal experience required. Previous experience in labor and employment law strongly preferred. Litigation experience and experience counseling clients required.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory: Manage and assign tasks to outside counsel and will assist other corporate attorneys in assigning tasks to administrative support staff.

Special Skills: A team player with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and respond to clients in a timely manner including the ability to provide competent risk assessment advice. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Travel: Travel is required but varies with workload.
