What We’re Looking For:

The VP Product, Consumer Engagement owns nurturing and retaining learners throughout their lifelong learning journey. This role owns the platform experience for learner nurture, monetization, and retention for all 2U products, including degree, boot camp, executive education and open course offerings. This role spans multiple web properties, and is focused on creating a cohesive edX experience across all digital touch points, with a focus on edx.org, an educational marketplace with 45M learners and 4000 courses. The ideal candidate has experience in building consumer software on a global scale, with expertise in ecommerce, consumer communications, and personalization. S/he is an experienced senior product leader who combines a data-driven mindset, technical expertise with a strong passion for delivering best in class customer experiences.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Drive product vision. Create product strategy and translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and requirements. Align internal and external stakeholders on priorities and roadmap.

Lead cross-functional teams of marketers, data scientists, designers and engineers to build highly leveraged platform foundations and product features aimed at retaining users and growing revenue.

Optimize the monetization strategy, inclusive of defining our consumer offerings and delivering the technical capabilities and integrated platform marketing to support them.

Enhance the product offering to drive long term user retention through best-in-class user experiences and intrinsic value creation.

Manage and lead a team of product managers.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

10 years of experience in product management with focus on direct to consumer.

Track record of building compelling consumer digital experiences driving increased engagement and monetization.

Experience managing, developing, and motivating a team, and creating or promoting a customer-centric culture.

Deep understanding of customer funnel analytics.

Strong experience influencing stakeholders across a global organization.

Experience driving learner engagement with multi-channel communication strategies, including email, web, app, and mobile push.

Experience owning and enhancing a global consumer ecommerce system.

Strong customer obsession: you enjoy obsessing over getting the customer experience right.

You earn trust with your direct team and stakeholders: you listen, you are inclusive, you treat others with respect, and you are willing to be vocally self-critical.

Hire and develop the best: you value coaching your team and developing leaders. You have a demonstrated track record of hiring strong talent and moving them through the organization.

Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas.

Data driven - you lean on data to make decisions and when you don’t have data, you search for customer anecdotes to gain insights.

Prior experience in education technology is a plus but not required.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $220,000 with potential bonus and equity eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
