We deliver results that exceed expectations and we win together!Your Role: Tenable, Inc. is looking to hire a highly-qualified, motivated, and organized Corporate Counsel, Public Sector to help support Tenable\u2019s operations. The role will be located in Columbia, MD and will primarily involve reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with customers, partners and vendors, with a focus on contracts related to public sector and government entities (both state and federal). Given the nature of in-house work at Tenable, the Corporate Counsel, Public Sector will also perform other legal tasks as required, which may include compliance work, employment law issues, intellectual property, maintaining records, legal research, and miscellaneous assignments. \u00A0Successful candidates should be able to advise and guide internal clients with diplomacy and authority. \u00A0Your Opportunity:The Corporate Counsel, Public Sector will work as part of a growing legal team and will be required to undertake the following:Reviewing, drafting and negotiating various types of public sector customer and reseller agreements involving software, SaaS, hardware and professional services;Responding to complex Requests for Proposals (RFPs), which may involve resellers and system integrators;Serving as a trusted adviser to public sector sales leadership;Ensuring appropriate controls have been developed to support compliance with customer contract requirements;Supporting public sector policy engagements;Managing entity set-up and related corporate governance for entities selling to public sector customers;Monitoring progress of work by counsel and other external advisors, including reviewing of bills;Managing storage and record keeping of contracts;Reviewing corporate communications from a legal perspective; and\u00A0Performing other related duties as may be assigned.What You'll Need:JD, equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.Must be an active member in good standing with a State Bar.Minimum of 3+ years\u2019 experience as a public sector lawyer supporting technology transactions.Previous in-house experience in a similar role in a technology company highly advantageous, but not a requirement.Team player and attitude that no job is too big or too small.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high activity environment.\u00A0Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.\u00A0Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and various levels of employees, including senior executives.Experience advising clients about legal risks, negotiation strategies, and proposed courses of action to mitigate risk.\u00A0Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, business acumen and judgment, strategic legal thinking, initiative and attention to detail are a must.\u00A0An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written communication skills.\u00A0An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and strong desire to work in a dynamic environment.Fluent English, written and spoken. \u00A0Other languages may be beneficial, but are not required.\u200BIf you\u2019ve reached this point, and you\u2019re still not sure if you should apply\u2026..Just do it! Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
