Description
Seeking a nationally-renown health services researcher to lead Humana Healthcare Research (HHR). The goal of HHR is to conduct rigorous studies to guide the learning and dissemination of innovative clinical and payment interventions. As Humana pivots to deliver a more integrated and holistic set of clinical solutions to members and continues to lead in the deployment of value-based payment models, rigorous research will form a needed foundation for decisions about program adjustment and scaling.
The AVP requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.
Responsibilities
The AVP will manage a team of over 35 researchers and analysts, most with Masters or Ph.D. level training, and will be responsible for managing deep relationships across the Humana to serve as a trusted partner in learning and disseminating findings. Success will be defined by the quality of published research as well as the ability to meaningfully influence the quality of business decisions as we design and scale new clinical and payment innovations.
HHR has several key divisions:
Health Services and Policy - studies of new payment models and policy innovations. As a leading, scaled, value-based purchaser, real-world evaluations of novel models and unique designs can lead to more rapid, evidence-based innovation within Humana and dissemination across the industry. This Division also conducts policy studies to influence CMS regulations based on real-world evidence.
Care Delivery - studies of clinical innovations in the care in the home, senior-focused primary care, integrated care management, behavioral health, digital health, pharmacy, and social determinants of health domains. Humana is innovating in each area, and the internal research team assists in guiding the design of interventions, rapid-cycle learning, and rigorous evaluations of interventions.
External Collaborations - The External Research team has numerous partnerships with the federal government, the private sector, and academic institutions to develop partnerships that guide research that leverage unique data and relationships to foster research that meaningfully contributes to the scientific literature.
