VP, Engineering and Architecture

Responsible for the development and engineering support of software products and software services.

Responsibility Overview:

Contribute to strategic technical direction for the Engineering&Development group in line with overall technical direction as set by the President & CEO

Provide line management to engineering teams

Work with Product Management to set product roadmap commitments and schedules

Determine overall technical approach and architecture of platform

Ensure that engineering teams are working effectively and in productive co-operation with other teams

Enforce adherence to the SDLC by the creation of design specifications, code review sessions and high standards for quality assurance and testing

Ensure appropriate and comprehensive communication and release practices are followed for software releases

Critical Experience:

3 years experience building RESTful APIs for commercial applications

Proven ability to mentor junior developers

10 years experience in a software development environment

Solid understanding of Agile and SCRUM methods

Experience in a SaaS environment required

Experience in LAMP Stack developmentrequired

Preferred Experience:

Professional experience with database systems like Redis and MongoDB

Professional experience with one or more message queueing systems like Rabbit and ActiveMQ

Professional experience with one or more PHP frameworks like Zend and Symfony

Professional experience with cloud-based systems to manage spikes and valleys in computing resource requirements automatically

Experience in Online Media
