Corporate Counsel - Commercial Contracts

Tyson Foods is seeking an experienced transactional lawyer to serve as Corporate Counsel. This lawyer must demonstrate an ability to effectively, efficiently, and timely manage drafting, negotiation, and advising internal clients in connection with the company’s procurement, supply chain, sales, and other commercial matters. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are essential. Responsibilities also include assisting internal clients in developing new commercial programs, working with paralegals, attorneys, and contracting professionals, and managing the work of outside counsel from time to time. The successful candidate is a creative thinker who relies on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals and possesses an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of legal concepts, practices, and procedures. This role is a part of the Corporate Law group of the Law Department.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Law degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Experience: 5 years of legal experience drafting and negotiating contracts are required. Previous experience in the food industry and/or with supply chain or sales contracts is preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Teamwork: Close collaboration with other in-house attorneys in achieving business and departmental goals.

Special Skills: A team player with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and respond to clients in a timely manner including the ability to provide competent risk assessment advice; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Travel: Travel may be required.
